Our Story

Chick-fil-A may be a national brand, but every restaurant is locally owned and operated. At Chick-fil-A Scarsdale, our Operator is deeply invested in this community and lead their restaurants hands-on and full-time, overseeing daily operations as their sole business focus. This local ownership means decisions are made with the community in mind—because this restaurant isn’t just where we work, it’s where we belong.

Meet the Owner/Operator

Joshua Riley is the owner/operator of Chick-fil-A Scarsdale. Alongside his wife, Pangshua, they are honored to bring the service and hospitality Chick-fil-A provides to Westchester. Joshua’s journey started as a team member while attending college at Appalachian State University (where he and Pangshua met). Together, they grand opened Chick-fil-A Scarsdale in August 2023, the first dine-in franchise in Westchester.

Our History

Our founder S. Truett Cathy started a small business in 1946, The Dwarf Grill, with his brother Ben in Atlanta. Through the years, that restaurant prospered and led Truett to further the success of his business. In 1967, Truett founded and opened the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta’s Greenbriar Shopping Center. Truett’s family has continued his tradition of leadership, including his son Dan, who was appointed as the company’s CEO in 2013, and grandson Andrew, who serves as the current Chick-fil-A CEO.

“We’re not just in the chicken business; we’re in the people business.”

- S. Truett Cathy, Founder of Chick-fil-A
